A quiet week for ORC members this week as there were no local races on the calendar. One ORC however traveled far afield to partake in Bath two tunnels half marathon. The one lap race takes in the best of the countryside along the Limpley Stoke Valley as well as the beautiful city centre along riverside trails, canals and old railway tracks. Runners run through the 408 metre Devonshire tunnel and also the 1672 metre Combe Down tunnel which gives the race its name. Ged Fitzgibbon described the race as very scenic but definitely not a PB course though he would still recommend it to others. Despite describing his 2hr 11 min time as ‘not great’ he still managed to come second in his age category. Congratulations on your effort Ged.
