Luke finished in 17 minutes exactly which put him in 14th place overall and 4th in his category. He never ceases to amaze.

Totnes 10K

Organised by Teignbridge Trotters this pretty but undulating course of mixed terrain starts and finishes on Borough Park using the Totnes Leisure Centre as race HQ. It follows alongside the beautiful River Dart and is mostly all off road. Andrew Vernon was sole ORC running and was 3rd Vet 55, in a time of 51.33. Surprisingly he clocked 6.7 miles on his Garmin watch.

The Green Lantern

In blustery conditions on Saturday afternoon, Claire Watkins ran The Green Lantern race organised by Wild Running. This is a circular 14 mile long half marathon which follows the Green Circle clockwise around Exeter, through a lovely mix of trails, wooded valleys, meadows and bicycle lanes through the beautiful Ludwell Valley, Hoopern Valley, Redhills, Mincing Lake Country Park and the flatlands along the banks of the Exe. Claire was glad the rain held off and had an enjoyable race finishing 1st female in 2hrs 2 minutes.

The RAT Plague

This event organised by Mudcrew Trail and Ultra is a gruelling 64miles (100K) of hard terrain. With an elevation of 4010 meters only one sole ORC was brave enough to conquer it. Claire Grubb, supported along the route by family completed the race in a Chip Time of  17 hours 53 minutes and 43 seconds. Congratulations go to Claire as most people could never even imagine running for that length of time.
Overall she ranked 63 out of 137 starters.  Her gender Rank was 12th out of 24 Female starters and in her age category she was 4th out of 7.

The Stur Half Marathon

The Stur Half (A Dorset County Half Marathon Championship race) is organised by the Dorset Doddlers, and has been running since 1990.  The undulating route follows rural roads in and around Sturminster Newton. Steve Sincock included this race as part of his Autumn marathon training.  The Half marathon starts outside the Railway Gardens and goes through Manston, Margaret Marsh, Stour Row and Todber, returning through Moorside and Hinton mostly on quiet country lanes to finish at Sturminster Newton High School.  On the day it was quite windy, cool first thing but soon warmed up following the start with the sun appearing.  The race was really well organised, with frequent water stations and a great atmosphere. At the finish there were several food and drink tents including a beer tent for post race rehydration. Steve Sincock finished in a time of 1:27:28 and was 1st MV60.
